• Sonic the Hedgehog: "All Hail Shadow" (Remix) - Crush 40 (This appears in Sonic and the Black Knight when the Medal of Lancelot is equipped)

• In addition, there are several vocal level themes associated with Shadow's character in Sonic Adventure 2:
  • White Jungle: "Rhythm and Balance" - Everett Bradley
  • Final Chase: "The Supernatural" - Everett Bradley
  • Biolizard: "Supporting Me" - Everett Bradley
  • Radical Highway: "Vengeance is Mine" Jun Senoue; in Shadow the Hedgehog(game) there is a similar song that plays in 2 player mode.
• Also, a special remix of Tripod Baby performed by m-flo was released as a promotional song for Shadow the Hedgehog.

Shadow was ranked as the 2nd favorite Sonic character only beaten by Sonic the Hedgehog himself in the official Sonic character poll.^[2] Game Revolution described his character as a "quintessential anti-Sonic."^[3] In a 1UP.com feature about "How Sega Can Save Sonic the Hedgehog," Jeremy Parish wrote that of the "tagalongs" that the series must ditch, Shadow's character was the most in need of it.^[4]

Cheese is Cream's main form of attack - Cream launches Cheese as a 'homing missile' of sorts, as he homes in on and, in the Advance games, destroys an enemy, making him a valuable weapon. He is also shown to be able to create tornadoes in Sonic Battle.

Cheese also has the ability to change into a Chao version of Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, and Amy. This is only seen in Sonic Advance 3, and only Cheese has been shown to have this ability.

In Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood, Cheese has the ability to greatly increase the luck of all team members during battle.

• It is possible for the player to obtain more than one Cheese in Sonic Chronicles. After the game is finished, It will restart, but the player keeps all of their chao. So if the player finds Cheese again, they will have two of him.
• In Sonic X, it is hinted that Cheese somehow knew Chaos, as he claps with joy when he sees Chaos and protests when Chaos is called a monster.

Trivia

• Cream, Vanilla, and Cheese's name is a reference to "vanilla cream" and "cream cheese."
• Cream has cameos in Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut; she flies by after Sonic and Tails clear Casinopolis, she drops the Ice Key for Big to collect, and Amy spots her flying by the train station in Station Square.
• In both versions of Sonic X, Vanilla has Cream's voice artist. In the English version, she has Cream's voice from "Enter! Supersonic Hedgehog Appears!".
• The majority of the Sonic cast from the games have made appearances in Archie's Sonic the Hedgehog comics, with the exception of Cream, Cheese and Vanilla. One reason may be that the comics already have a female rabbit: Bunnie Rabbot. Also, it may be because, although they are in the Sonic X Archie comic, they are considered as "Sonic X exclusive" characters.

Reception

A Games Radar article called Amy's introduction "the only bitter taste" in Sonic CD, but added that "she's just a pink hedgehog here and not a whiny, annoying brat like in Sonic Adventure." ^[6] In an IGN article "Smash It Up", Lucas M Thomas stated that "one of the coolest things about [Amy Rose's character] is her enormous, walloping hammer" that is often used for comedy in the series. ^[7]

"My Sweet Passion" - Nikki Gregoroff (This later appeared at the end of Sonic and the Black Knight when Sonic tried to explain why he didn't show up for his date with Amy).
